Today at Meinders Community Library, we have a variety of snacks for you to sample when you visit the library for Treat Tuesday. Do you have a favorite treat or beverage to enjoy when you’re reading? Share your photos on our Facebook or by tagging @meinderscommunitylibrary on Instagram for a chance to win Chamber Checks courtesy of the Pipestone Area Friends of the Library.
We know that great reads can inspire many things: devotion, rage, art. Do you have anything—a shirt, artwork, a tattoo—inspired by a favorite book? Share your photos on our Facebook or by tagging @meinderscommunitylibrary on Instagram for a chance to win Chamber Checks courtesy of the Pipestone Area Friends of the Library.
If you want to see art in action, stop by the library today from 12:15-1:30pm to watch artist Hector Curriel as he draws caricatures.
Today is the first official day of National Library Week! We loved seeing everyone’s bookish photos last year, so our photo challenge is back and today is Shelfie Sunday. Share your shelfies on our Facebook or by tagging @meinderscommunitylibrary on Instagram for a chance to win Chamber Checks courtesy of the Pipestone Area Friends of the Library.
This afternoon at the library, patrons who signed up for our DIY Garden Book Nook workshop will be creating miniature scenes to adorn their bookshelves. We’ll share photos of these creations later in the day.
You could win a Book Nook (pre-assembled or a kit to create one) when you visit the library or attend a program this week! PAFL has made a variety of prize packs for all ages and interests and you can enter your name for the item you’d most like to win. We will also do a grand prize drawing for Chamber Checks.
This Monday, April 7th, artist Hector Curriel will be at Meinders Community Library drawing caricatures from 12:15-1:30pm. We have slots available for 15 people to sit for a caricature and have a unique keepsake. If you would like to reserve a slot, call the library at 507-825-6714 or fill out the form below. We will confirm your reservation and give you a 15-minute time frame. Reservations will be taken in the order they are received. Patrons are also welcome to come watch Hector Curriel as he draws. This event is free thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Act.
