National Library Week: #ExplainABookPlotBadly

Today we tried our hand at #ExplainABookPlotBadly. Can you guess the book based on the our terrible plot descriptions? Most of these books have also been adapted as movies. But beware, these blurbs may spoil the plot.

  1. Kids: Farmer stopped from culling his litter of pigs by a precocious spider.
  2. YA: Girl makes the president mad when she and her fake boyfriend try to eat poisonous berries on TV.
  3. Classic: Mother works hard to get her five daughters married and no one properly appreciates her.
  4. Mystery: Woman enacts elaborate scheme to frame her husband and then changes her mind.
  5. Classic Mystery: Terrible house party. Everyone dies.

And the Winner Is…

It’s a tie! The Four Winds and It Ends With Us got the same number of votes, so both books are our Meinders March Madness Champions. Thank you to everyone who participated. We had so much fun seeing how all the matches turned out.

Congratulations to the gift card winners from last’s week drawing: Crystle Dougherty, Diane Scotting, and Sara Nelson! We will have gift cards available for you to choose from the next time you stop at Meinders Library.

We also drew for a grand prize from everyone who participated throughout the whole month. Since we had two books win, we picked two grand prize winners. Congratulations to Traci Nissen and Jessica Koprek! Stop by Meinders Library to pick up your prize.
