Chili Feeds and Family Feuds

For the first time since I’ve been here, the library will be present and accounted for at the Annual Chamber Chili Cook-Off. While we kicked around the idea last year, I’m not a big T.V. watcher, so the sitcom idea was out of my league. Game shows, though? That we can do.

Especially since we’re not the ones responsible for the chili. That honor goes to Deb Brockberg, Pipestone Area Friends of the Library member and entrant for the contest.

The theme, however, is our responsibility and requires us to cook up something fun–a process which will require a little help from you. To get our answers for Family Feud, we ask everyone to please fill out the survey below before Monday, November 18.

In return for a completed survey, we will waive your accumulated late fees from Meinders Community Library. This does not include fees associated with lost or damaged items or late fees accrued at other libraries.

So, if you are in possession of a library book or movie that you’ve been afraid to return because it’s fourteen years past due, now is your chance to drop it off at the library fine-free! You don’t even have to come into the library if you don’t want to. All you have to do is answer the nine questions and leave them inside your book in the drop box so we know which account to clear.

If you are unsure whether you have a late fee or not, simply put your name on a sheet of paper, answer the following questions, and drop it off at the library. You can also answer our questions via the contact form below. Regardless of how you send us your answers, your name will not be included in the game.

  1. What item do you most frequently check out from the library?
  2. When is the best time to visit the library?
  3. Why do you visit the library?
  4. What do you think librarians do all day?
  5. What do you need to get a library card?
  6. What is the most unique item you can check out at the library?
  7. What kinds of books do you read?
  8. What is the best part about the library?
  9. What is the most essential ingredient in a good chili?

Thanks so much for your input (and returning your library materials). If you want to find out what the Survey Says, please join us at the 14th Annual Chamber Chili Cook-Off & Silent Auction Fundraiser on November 21 at the Pipestone Country Club. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Not to mention, you get to enjoy a fantastic night out filled with food, fun, and friends!

The only feuds allowed will be at the Pipestone Area Friends of the Library chili table.
