Pen 2 Page

Jody

I am a writer, mother, librarian, and lover of all words. I’ve published short stories, poetry, articles, and novels. That said, I’m still learning the craft and definitely require a bit of motivation from my peers, which is why I love writers groups.

Our virtual Writers Cafe is a place for writers to gather, share their journeys, support each other, and get motivated to do what they love…putting their pens to the page.

When?

Prompts updated weekly.

Who?

Any writer of any genre age 12 and up is invited to join the writing prompts, check-ins, and Q&A sessions. Writers must send an email request before they are provided a password to access the member page. Closet writers are welcome to enjoy the prompts from afar.

How?

To start, I will post writing prompts and writing info below. Pen 2 Page members can answer the prompts on the members only page–if they wish. Visitors can participate on their own.

Anyone can email me with writerly questions, and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I will also post the questions and answers here for others to see. After all, the whole point of being in a writing community is to learn from others.

If we get to the point where we want to add a zoom component to the Cafe, I will send out invites to writers.

January 26 Writing Prompt

Jot down the first three words that pop into your mind. They can be disjointed. It doesn’t matter if they are nouns, verbs, or adjectives.

Now, use them to set the scene. Picture these 250 words as a stage or opening scene where your readers (and characters or actors) will first enter.

To request membership in Pen 2 Page, please send me an email. Share a bit about yourself including what you write, why you write, and what you hope to gain from joining a writer’s group.
