Winter Programming Set

Keep the winter doldrums at bay by attending a library event or two. Our winter Pianoprogramming is set and copies of Meinders Happenings are available at the library.

December 13 will usher in a Christmas Baking Exchange. Join the fun and cut down on your baking time. Bring 2 dozen of the same treat and take 2 dozen different goodies home with you. Stop by the library to sign up for the exchange, then bring your baked goods between 5:00 and 7:00pm on Tuesday, December 13.

Holly Vandenberg will play Christmas music from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Participation in the baking exchange is not necessary to enjoy the holiday spirit.

On December 17, we will host an Author Panel with 4 local writers. This will consist of mini presentations by each author on their writing journeys as well as a Q&A on all aspects of publishing, writing and individual projects. Some authors will be selling and signing books, making this an ideal Christmas shopping stop for the bibliophiles in your life.

  • Brenda Donelan, South Dakota author of the University Mystery Series
  • Jeanine Fricke, Lake Benton author of Into the Dark Forest
  • Jody Wacker, Pipestone author of juvenile and YA literature
  • James Zarzana, Marshall author of the Marsco Dissident

And don’t forget to treat yourself to a new book or two. The Pipestone Area Friends of the Library will be hosting their annual book sale December 28-30th. You can fill your bookshelves and reading lists with gently used books for a great price. We are currently accepting donations.

Last but not least, the Winter Reading Program begins on January 1st and runs through March 31st. Last year, Meinders came in 4th. With your help, we can get one step closer to being Plum Creek Reading Champions.
